For families with littles

We all know little ones grow up so quickly. This is a great opportunity to capture their  innocence, their fun energy and the joy they bring to the everyday activities. Cooking may take twice as long, but hey don’t they look cute helping with activities around the house?

for families with middles

Families with middles (6 years old plus) usually love outside activities where "middles" can show off a bit of independence. They can climb trees, jump high on the trampoline, do bike tricks  etc. This is a lovely age to document.

This is for families with kids all age, where they would like to document "a day in the holidays".  This is about documenting traveling as a family. Choose one activity and take me along with you.. Family trips are full of adventures and stories to be passed on to future generations.

THE PROCESS TIMELINE

1. BOOKING

We will choose a date & time and BOOM you are booked. Even if you are a no-time-sort-of-person, trust me! You are gonna find time and make this work. 

2. PLANNING

I will call you and you can tell me about everyone in the family, your vision for the photoshoot, your needs etc. We will then discuss how to prepare etc. 

3. PHOTOSHOOT

This is when all the planning comes together and turns into M.A.G.I.C. Woohoo!!

4. HAPPY DANCING!

Ohh yeah!!! Happy dance around the living room (just remember to close those blinds or the neighbours will think you are insane) and enjoy your family memories F.O.R.E.V.E.R. 

FAQs

  • What if I am not photogenic?

Trust me here. There is no such a thing as being or not being photogenic. A beautiful photograph is a combination of many variables such as light, composition, background, camera lens, angles, colors and emotion. Mix all these elements together with the love your family holds and we are sorted.

  • What If I can't find time on my crazy schedule? 

I hear you. Life is busy, but when we really want something, we will make time for it. 

  • WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS A MELTDOWN during the shoot?

Totally not a problem at all. If that happens, we will give them a break, a bit of space and they will likely cheer up again. I also have kids, so I am with you.

  • WHERE DOES THE PHOTOSHOOT TAKE PLACE?

Lifestyle sessions take place in your home or farm or in any other place that is meaningful to you and your family. It can also be a family activity. For example, if you rather take me along to document your family fishing trip, then that's cool. We don't have to stay around the house. 

  • WHAT IF MY HOUSE DOENS'T LOOK LIKE PINTEREST?

It does't matter. It's not about the house, It's about the home and the love you share. My house certainly doesn't look like Pinterest. In fact, my house looks more like a cyclone just been through it. I blame my toddler for it. haha

  • WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

As a general rule, wear something plain, with NO logos, graphic, florals or checkers. Busy clothes can be too distracting in a photograph. Saying that, if you don’t have something plain or really like to make a statement with your clothes, then I highly recommend you wear whatever it is that make you your own self.

  • WHAt is your photography style?

    My photography style is 80% candid photos, 20% posed.

MY Promise to you

My goal is to give families a chance to document their milestones as well as their casual moments of them doing their thing, with real, raw moments, emotions and lots of love. Personally, I document my family life almost on a weekly basis, because I want my kids to know their past, to understand where they came from, to see what struggles we have been through and what wins we had, but most of all how much we loved each other. I know one day this experience will empower them to move forward with their life decisions.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind. 🌏 Be kind to nature, to yourself and to others. 🤜🤛 Photos of my boys helping each other and picking up rubbish at the beach. 🌊 We just went for a random walk at the beach and found lots of rubbish from the washed out landfill. We had no bags to put the rubbish in, but Lucas offered his pockets. He also offered to carry Filipe and always kept an eye on Pedro. Thanks, my kind hearted teenager. ❤️

I really appreciate all this wisdom and love from my mum and mother-in-law. They are beautiful loving helpful fun grandmothers. Surely every now and then they are naughty and give Pedro an extra lollie or so, but aren’t they all a bit naughty when it comes to giving treats?
We bought our house 5 years ago. Lucky for us, there were no established gardens. We didn’t want the traditional house gardens, we wanted edibles (and some natives), if even if those would take longer to grow and to fruit and to make our section look prettier. Well, we are so glad we took this path. 5 years later our section have lots of fruit trees, berries, tea plants and garden beds. 🌳 Every year we make a new garden bed and our aim is to have less lawn, more food. We also focus on what thrives on the West Coast weather. There is no point in trying to grow pineapples if garlic does way better here. You get the point. 🐝 We are also bee lovers, so we try to plant herbs and flowers that bees like. 🌊 Have you done anything recently that goes against the tide? Haha I feel like I spent my whole life swimming agains the tide and it always felt right, but weird. Luckily for the last 10 years I have been swimming against the tide with my hubby, so it doesn’t feel so weird anymore. Haha 🌱 So yeah, today we started making the next garden bed. We didn’t get very far as the weather had us going inside for shelter. ☔️ The more we plant on our backyards, the less packaged food we need to buy.
Sometimes it’s really hard to choose just 1 photo, or 2, or 3. So when I can’t let go, I dedicate the 2 pages widespread just for that event. Why not, uh?

Pedro is going to be 4 in a few days and I’m spending an unhealthy amount of time looking at his baby photos.😆 Do you feel like you are drowning in photos sometimes? Or do you feel the opposite for not taking enough photos?
Life is a balancing act, right? The answer to all things lies in the middle. As a parent I often switch between holding his hands and letting him go. As a claiming-his-individuality-growing-human, he is doing great at switching from asking for help when he needs, to standing up for himself when he needs me to give him space for independence, trying-outs. I am learning from him. I’m doing the work. Asking for help is act of courage. Let’s use it! And standing up for yourself and saying NO to those people that want to control all around you is an act of self respect, in politics for example. Parenting really means I learn a lesson every day, it means I return home. From my child to my inner-child. Does Anyone else feel like this?
